No Man's Sky Leviathan Update

The No Man's Sky Website announces the launch of another free update for No Man's Sky, as Hello Games continues to add to its space game. This introduces a new story-driven expedition called Leviathan that includes a roguelike element through the use of a resetting time loop. This will climax in an encounter with an "ancient space creature" (shades of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home) which you can recruit as an addition to your fleet. Here's a Leviathan Expedition Trailer with a look. The new content is part of a version 3.90 patch with a bunch of other changes as well. Word is there is no plan to back off on the accelerator any time soon:
We hope you enjoy the Leviathan expedition as much as we enjoyed putting it together! Alongside the expedition, today’s update includes a number of improvements and bug fixes, detailed below.

The team is continuing to work on even more features and content for No Man’s Sky, and we will have more news for you soon.

Our journey continues.

I think that what I appreciate most about KXmode is that he refuses to have an opinion on politics, something that actually impacts his life (though not much, as a straight white Christian male no one is trying to legislate against teachers mentioning he exists), but he's willing to devote half his life to fury over spending $60 for something that wasn't what he was promised for a year.

Had he put that in the stock market, it'd have been $66!

Kxmode, do you realize you are in full jihad/preacher mode about NMS ?

You made your point 300 times over, ok we all got it, but seems you will keep doing it forever.
8 posts in this thread alone, obsessive, tiresome, unhealthy, unforgiving, no flexibility at all over 60 dollars ?

So, NMS has already redeemed itself *gloriously* 600 times over to become a common high point on come backs and then some.
And Sean Murray is the paradigm of the prodigal dev, raining bounties over his past misdeed.

That sounds to me like a driver issue or your system is not recognizing the gpu/cpu properly.
Did you do a clean install of windows after those upgrades and not just a clean install of the drivers?
I'm not questioning your ability or skills, just tossing around ideas.
I've seen it mentioned in troubleshooting threads or where people swap components while benchmarking that sometimes windows doesn't do the right thing and fully recognize the new part or it's capabilities.
I know, windows not doing the right thing. unthinkable

This sort of just happened to my buddy... His system was gimped for months because of a driver that didn't fully clean up or something from his previous hardware.
I was surprised that sort of thing still happens... I remember back in the day always having to use CC cleaner or whatever it was to get rid of old drivers because you couldn't trust Nvidia or ATI to do it right. But I haven't had to worry about that in forever.

The sheer amount of content released for this game that is free is nothing short of industry leading. Looking forward to the next Expedition.
I agree. What isn't industry-leading is how they launched the product without communicating its actual condition. Silence omission is a lie, but in the case of Sean Murray, his lies are blatant, verbalized, and constant. He disrespected his customers by not providing full disclosure. So the game people play today is all thanks to the massive amount of money based on a foundation of lies.

Not for nuthin', the publics expectations were quite out of line as well.

I don't see how hindsight has anything to do with it either. The only sight required is just... sight. Or hearing. Basic reasoning ability I guess. You either wait for reviews, or you take your chances. If you choose the latter and end up spending $60 on a turd, there's no one to blame but yourself.

It also goes without saying, you probably shouldn't, against all reason, put your faith in a guy known mainly for shilling Doritos and Mountain Dew.

No, it has absolutely nothing to do with hindsight. The hype on this game was over the moon. Which is EXACTLY why I waited until after the release to see the reviews. A year later, as things started to be on the upswing, I bought the game on sale. Definitely in my top 10 of most cost effective entertainment purchases.
No one needs hindsight or foresight to know that you should never believe the hype or pre-order a game.

You two have no idea what "hindsight is 20/20" means. It means you cannot retcon your knowledge of NMS before it was released.

They used it just fine... they didn't need hindsight to know prior to purchasing it that it was overhyped and would underdeliver. As most figured out.

But you can?

Of course we know, as you do. But for some reason you refuse to believe I actually did see it as "too hyped" before it was released. And in "20/20 hindsight" is it obvious it was overhyped. The question is why you would refuse to believe anyone could have seen it just because you didn't?
