I am laughing at the shooting in Uvalde today. Not because I find it comedic, I don't. I find it incredibly tragic. I am laughing because it's a lot like when you tell a kid over and over "Don't put the fork in the wall socket"...and then they do. They scream and cry and act surprised. You're laughing because the inevitable finally occurred.

The kid is America, the fork is firearms, and the wall socket are the now thousands of preventable deaths.

But we decided, as a country, that we just don't care. So be it. Stop complaining as a country until you are willing to effectively do something as a country.

On the local level, Abbot will act all concerned and nothing will happen unless the majority of the victims are white since the shooter was hispanic. If the victims are hispanic, then a lot of noise will be made but nothing of substance will come of it. Why? Because welcome to Texas.

blue i think it would be an interesting hobby for you to get into wildlife photography, and as a purely coincidental side effect share the results with us ;-)

sounds like you live in a very woodsy life-filled place, would be a shame to not document its changes over the years. beginner DSLR kits aren't super expensive. couple hundred bucks for a starter body and kit lenses, and very rewarding when you get the outcome you had pictured in your mind.

You've mentioned the chatter from "conservative forums" a couple times. I'd ask what they were but i don't really wanna know. If that murderer had any social media i hope it gets locked up before everyone on facebook shares it a million times and helps feed the next copycat.

I don't know if everyone's heard, but Jiff has recalled some of its peanut butter products. I didn't hear about it until last night, and as luck would have it, I had just opened a jar of Jif peanut butter Friday that I bought it a few weeks ago. I checked and it is in the recall. I didn't worry, because I had eaten some and I was fine. I didn't know that Salmonella can take a few days before symptoms hit, and I spent about 3 hours in the bathroom this morning with "symptoms."
