Evil Dead: The Game Released [May 13, 2022, 10:57 am ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Come get some! Evil Dead: The Game is now available for Windows and
consoles, offering a new PVP/PVE multiplayer game based on the Evil Dead movies
and TV show. PC gamers can find this on the
Epic Games
Store, where there's the option of buying a Deluxe Edition as well as a
cosmetics add-on and a Season Pass. Saber Interactive offers a
Launch Trailer
featuring a Method Man soundtrack, gameplay, and lots of the humor for which the
series is known. Here are some groovy details:
Inspired by the iconic horror, humor and action of the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead: The Game brings the series’ biggest characters together in a pulse-pounding battle with the forces of darkness. Work as a team of four survivors to kick Deadite butt and banish the vile Kandarian Demon. Or become the Demon yourself, using its powers of possession to stop the good guys dead and swallow their souls!
Evil Dead: The Game delivers the ultimate Evil Dead action experience. Choose your squad with fan-favorite characters from every era of the franchise, including Ash, Kelly Maxwell, Pablo Simon Bolivar, Annie Knowby, Scotty and Lord Arthur. Battle with more than 25 hard-hitting weapons, like the good ol’ chainsaw and boomstick, and level up a variety of character classes with their own unique abilities to survive the night in multiplayer and bonus single-player missions.

Are we looking at the same footage? Left 4 Dead was all about mowing down hordes on your way to the exit, with survival being the only objective. This is gimmicky, low-volume conflict in an arena with consideration for balanced PVP. Much more Dead By Daylight in philosophy, but with some actual combat mixed in. If you want a L4D clone from this dev, it's already been out for years -- World War Z.

Depends if that's the actual total of content. Technically, Elden Ring can be beaten in 8 or 9 minutes, but anyone suggesting it's short on content would be blatantly lying.

Aliens: Fireteam is one that I really, really wish had competent single player, too.
I'm actually totally ok with the game design itself, though; I'd play all of those games if they allowed you to play alone with competent bots alongside you, but for whatever reason game developers stopped even really trying to make good bots 15 years ago...which is probably right around the last time I was still young enough to have friends to play games with. Some new games have allowed it, like BF 2042, and I really like that they do... but their bots really aren't any better than they were way back in BF Vietnam.

You can play solo with bots and there apparently(?) is a very limited campaign. But yeah it's designed around multiplayer.
As someone with 1000 hours+ in Hunt: Showdown - I love that world and would love a single-player RPG immersive-sim based on it. I mean, I don't think anything based on it will be as good as the multiplayer team fights, -that is what it is all about 1000% and where all of the mechanics come together to create something masterful-. They are doing a TV series; hopefully they'll be able to do it some justice.
