I never played Alan Wake. I was originally interested, but then they ripped it from PC and made it Xbox exclusive before release. I was bitter enough about it that by the time it finally did come out on PC years later, I no longer cared nor wanted to give them any money. That said, I am vaguely aware of the overall story and wouldn't mind a show. But my first though went straight to Control and how Alan Wake fit into that, which I did play, and loved.

So hopefully this show does well enough that they expand into the greater Control universe.

Alan Wake will either be gender and/or race swapped ...
As Beamer so eloquently explained... so what if they do? It's not like either of those traits are centrally important to the character. Get over yourself and join the rest of us in 2022.
Buy/HODL AMC! (Disclaimer: I am not a financial advisor / this is not financial advice)

Well, if you played Alan Wake and Control, you know the game developers already had a pretty sweet direction for the universe/story to go, and it wasn't all about white male Alan Wake.

AMC has done some good stuff, this could be interesting in a pretty strong ripoff of X-Files sort of way.

Alan Wake will either be gender and/or race swapped OR he will be a useless stupid coward, who manages to be a succesfull writer and to stay alive in Bright Falls, solely thanks to his strong/courageous/smart diverse partner.

And you're already offended, over a hypothetical that exists solely in your head about a tv show likely few will watch based on a game that didn't sell well and doesn't have a big cult following.

'Offended' lol, I don't give a damn about this.... who is making hypotheticals here ? As to my hypothesis which 'is in my head', like it or not past patterns (statistically speaking) can be used for safe future predictions.
