Tony Z's last update was almost a year ago... Quantum and Quanta. Before you bash this game that many devs and players are passionate about, you have to see that video.

It's funny, I just spent $1500 on an Aegis Dynamics Idris-P frigate the other day. My wife is now going to kill me, because you have inspired me to christen her the V. G. Reagle, instead of naming it after her.

It seems like a significant portion of the SC development team is trying to make this their lifetime project. I guess I can understand, but I just hope everybody buying into this realizes it will never, ever, be finished.
Painfully obvious. It will fail after launch, so never launch it. The sunk cost fallacy will keep things humming along.
What if your goal is to have a perpetual development machine? Sunk costs don't apply if you never intend on finishing......

When I saw that in the 42 newsletter, I thought it was silly. It is...BUT if they keep making all this real life base layer stuff, they can sell it all to whatever Metaverse VR project wins the coming VR wars. Still silly, but maybe not an utter waste.

I think it's just that people say random things to Roberts, and he never says "no."

"If we have the player start in bed (as the game does when you start), should the sheets have real physics when they get up?"
"Yes."
"If the player gets up and looks in the mirror, should we add minor deformations to the glass so it doesn't look artificial?"
"Yes."
"If the player opens the door, should we model sweat condensation and evaporation on the cold steel handle after the player has touched it?"
"Yes."

And it would be just stupid to do this sort of shit after the game was out and, you know, generating actual income. Seriously, how many people are going to stand around looking at blankets in a game? Blanket Simulator incoming in 3...2...1...

Ah, remembered/found where I got the information... it was from a YTer I watch occasionally who claimed, paraphrased "Cloud Imperium has hinted the next step in funding raising will include creating NFTs of ships..." in a video last month. However, he didn't provide an attribution.... so basically just an Internet rumor.

Just waiting for the NFT's to show up in this clusterfuck of what was once suppose to be a space game.
It already has them, they are just calling them ships.
I thought they had already indicated they were going to do NFTs, or did I misread/misunderstand something I saw...

I was just being sarcastic. I wouldn't be suprised though.

You know, reading the article -- it does kind of read like something on The Onion. Whether or not they are actually doing this, the story is funny.
