The fly on the wall would tell you that Garriott is once again hoping to jump on a bandwagon to make a quick couple million dollars or more. SotA never was a passion project but just like Tabula Rasa, Garriott was simply hoping to strike it big again so he could buy more space trips. He is a greedy money-grubbing trickster who is trying to exploit his has-been reputation for profit maximization any time a new fad comes along like Kickstarter or now blockchain/NFTs.
I was stupid enough to back SotA because I was hoping for a decent single player RPG, but after many empty promises and outright lies, Garriott bailed out long before the single player RPG component of SotA was even started. Never again. Fuck Garriott. I'm not going to touch any project he is involved with with a 3000ft pole. Fuck that lying scumbag.
