As a few of you are as untrusting of cloud based solutions as I am, I'm curious if any of you can recommend a webcam that has local storage and can be kept off the internet. My niece wants a couple of cameras inside her house to keep tabs on the kids and anyone visiting her place. Chip off the old block, like me, she doesn't want any cams connected to the Internet that have views inside her home, or can be hacked.
I've done a little research and all these cams nowadays are cloud based, but some have a local storage option. Don't mind spending $100 or a bit more per cam.
So far the only one I've come across that I would be willing to trust is the Wyze v3 camera. It's cloud based, but has a 32GB SD card that can be configured to continuously record upon motion to the card and overwrite the oldest files. Cam only needs to be on wifi to configure it from the phone app. Files are standard MP4 so the card can be pulled and watched on a PC, phone or tablet using a card reader. It can also be temporarily brought back in range of the wifi network it was configured on to view the local videos via the app, or make adjustments. It's reasonably priced at $50 with the SD card, and reviews say the quality is good and depending on the situation, you get 3 or 4 days worth of recordings which is fine.
My thinking is to configure the cameras using her phone's hotspot, and that way they are never setup to connect to the house wifi, but in a pinch she can turn on her hotspot to access the local video files via the app if she doesn't just want to pop out the card.
If anyone has any personal experience with any security camera hardware in an off line mode like this, I'd love to hear your recommendations.
Thanks!

Choose 1 or 2 -- where 1 is their cloud server and 2 is the SD card inserted into the camera. (just made up that scenario). If you know of a webcam which allows what you are suggesting I'm sure that would be welcome information.
Can't you have a webcam on your local WiFi that you simply don't configure for the internet/cloud? If you WiFi is secure, why is that a problem?

I hate wordle (I have mild dyslexia so words and I don't get along). What was the movie one with pictures?
EDIT: Framed, but I have no clue what the movie is as I don't know very many japanimation movies.
