Amazon Games VP Departs

Mike Frazzini is leaving Amazon after 18 years at the company, 13 of them in games. Bloomberg's report (may require registration or subscription) calls him the head of Amazon Game Studios, while his LinkedIn Profile calls him VP, Amazon Games. Confirming the news, he's posted a farewell message on his profile:
Yesterday, we announced internally that I will be leaving Amazon. After almost 13 years in games, and almost 18 years at the company, my last day will be 4/29. It’s always been in my head to take time off in the middle of my career to spend time with family (before kids are off to college), and to pursue some personal interests while my knees and back are still (relatively) healthy. I have no idea where things will lead from here (maybe even back to Amazon someday) - but I’m excited for the adventure.

And while there’s never really a perfect time to step away from a great role, now is a good time. We’ve launched two top 10 games in the past six months, and have a growing portfolio of promising new games in the pipeline. Prime Gaming is on a strong trajectory, providing more and more great content to players worldwide who are members of Amazon Prime. And we have some newer initiatives that are gaining real traction. Plus importantly, each of these teams are led by excellent leaders. The future is very bright for Amazon Games.

As for my time at Amazon, I am just amazed by what I’ve had a chance to work on, and the people I’ve had a chance to work with. Amazon is a rare and special place for builders - bold strategies, wildly talented (and committed) people, endless pursuit of operational excellence, and *extreme* customer centricity. It’s one heck of a place, and has been one heck of a ride.

A lot of forums do it in similar fashion to preserve SQL integrity.
And lots of forums delete posts with no ill results. It all boils down to the software running the forum.

AFAIK most actually just null the record and hide them--but some kind of record is still there.

Why not just delete obvious fraud accounts, along with all the spam messages they encompass, altogether.... rather than leaving the markers that memorialize and seemingly legitimize them?

I like Spam (rule 5)...;) I can only wish all forums would invoke it. I think the only thing it memorializes is the stupidity of the poster. Maybe Blue should include an animation of a jackass braying wherever rule 5 is applied...;)
It is well known that I cannot err--and so, if you should happen across an error in anything I have written you can be absolutely sure that *I* did not write it!...;)

My guess is that this ancient software doesn't natively contain that functionality, so Blue would have to have Frans build it. It probably wouldn't be trivial, even though I agree that it would "clean up" the threads. We've been hit by several spammers in recent weeks. It usually isn't this bad.

I'm guessing if the hoary forum software had those features our fearless leaders would use them.

Really not sure how banning a spammer and * REMOVAL * of spam posts either legitimizes or memorializes them.

Fire Phone Games (Ha!), then Lumberyard (Harder Ha!), then a bunch of failed games with Lumberyard, The Grand Tour Game (oof), Crucible (also oof), finally released New World (all right), then started publishing Lost Ark in the West (pretty good). They are getting there, but slowly. Having someone like Frazzini at the head might of been a passable idea when they wanted to make Fire Phone games, but he has been drowning since the Fire Phone died.
