Easy to understand how, probably. Easy to do, highly variable. Your stated solution is so simplified as to be not useful. I once lost 158 pounds in 12 months. At the time, it was "easy". I really didn't have a lot of difficulty doing it. I decided I wanted to do it, and I did it.

It took about four years, but I (not surprisingly) put most of it back on. And while I am now back down to about 70 lbs under my previous maximum, I haven't been able to reduce as much as would be best for me. I am not able to maintain the will to "behave properly". But then, I am less worried about it now. As I approach 60, I have no significant regrets in life, if I live another 15 years, great. If it is only another 2 years, I'm fine with that. Neither of my parents made it to 80 and frankly, I have no particular desire to do so.

Soup is best. It's filling and hydrating. Pre-western fast food you rarely ever saw fat people in soup cultures like Hong Kong. You ever see fat old Jewish men in deli's having soup? Not on your life! Soup yes, fat no!

Need to be careful of the sodium levels in soup though... assuming you're mortal. We undead sorcerers love salty soups, and we never gain a single ounce!

But seriously, if you're buying canned soup look carefully at the sodium content. Homemade soup, on the other hand, is delicious and healthy (Hobbit chowder?)

I can highly recommend Amy's Soups. The have low sodium versions, but even the regular ones have a lot less sodium than most other soups. I eat a lot of their vegetable and lentil soup, and their chili is to die for, even though it has no meat in it.

NATO has decided to seriously upgrade the arms they're sending to Ukraine. Instead of just small arms and man portable rockets, they'll be sending them fighter jets.

EU countries will send "fighter jets" to Ukraine at Kyiv's request to help it counter the Russian air and land assault, the bloc's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said Sunday.

"We're going to provide even fighting jets. We're not talking about just ammunition. We are providing more important arms to go to a war," he told a press conference.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has told the EU "they need the kind of fighting jets that the Ukrainian army is able to operate... some member states have these kinds of planes," Borrell said.

These would likely be types that the Ukrainian AF already flies: MiG 29s and Su-25s which are still operated by Poland, Bulgaria, and Slovakia. I wonder if tanks will soon be on the table.
