I can understand that. Digital Jesus is very hard to listen to and the 17 benchmark graphs he shows are worthless on a phone.
Luckily there are some peeps who are still doing the wordy words.

But with this card you really don't need to see charts, you can kind of jump to the conclusion on about three or four of the videos or read the final page of a couple reviews and you'll have a decent idea of what the card is and isn't.

Yup, from Guru3D:
In case you didn't notice it, check the results again where the Radeon 5500 XT is listed in our charts. Released in December 2019, that card had a 8GB, a 128-bit wide memory bus and is performing roughly the same as today's tested product. it also had a starting price of $169. So yeah two years later the Radeon RX 6500 XT performs in that same entry-level class level with a 2% differential. Fun stuff when it comes to competitive low-level esport gaming, but now starting at 199 USD with realistic street prices to hit 250-300 USD

$40 more, 2 years later, same performance.

It's almost like AMD thinks that computer gamers are dumb enough to continually buy shitty products even though they know that they are just going to complain about them.

Can't we just skip to the part where they give us the cards for free and then when we aren't using them, AMD remotely uses them to mine for cryptocurrency for themselves? At least that way people would be able to use them for gaming.

AMD would never release this card if there wasn't a chip shortage. 2016 cards are superior to this piece of shit.

If I HAVE TO build a game computer NOW and I don't have any older model GPU for "temporary use", I will just buy the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G and build the system around this CPU. I just play all the games in LOW (some at medium) details until I can buy a (new or used) videocard at normal price.

Buying a 4GB videocard in 2022 is stupid especially at street price. Even at MSRP is kind of stupid.

They should have just re-released the RX580, what the hell. It'd probably cost them less to build, at the same performance. I guess they think (and they're sadly, probably right) that users are too stupid to check reviews before buying a card, and a 6000-series card has GOT to beat a 500-series, yeah?
Anyone that picks up a low-end gpu normally doesn't give a shit about performance and probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Those that are concerned about performance read reviews, or in today's age watch a 20 minute.

Looking at the spec sheet really left a lot to be desired but I hate how a super budget card gets slagged for having 4GB of VRAM. There are a lot of things wrong with this card but it shouldn't be shocking that a card at the bottom the of the stack comes with super cut down hardware.

Low-end card is low-end.
Insert "this is my shocked face" gif.

That's now what we were arguing, what we were arguing was that a 2022 card would get beaten by 2016 card at same price and how it was a shameless cash grab to prey on the desperate. Or even lower priced it turns out for the intended old/budget PCIe3 audience, looking at you 570/470 ).

The 4GB/PCIe scam/gimp is even worse than I thought it would be.

Imagine a 200$ card released in 2016 that couldn't even beat a 200$ card released in 2010.
This is the crux of the problem of that waste of sand, not that it's "low-end", but on that subject it's not even priced as low-end, it's priced as cheap mid-range and can't even beat cheap midrange from 6 years ago...

It performs the same or even worse when compared to similarly-priced GPUs from the past 5 years, that's why it's being shit on. The limited memory bandwidth is a significant reason for that, which is directly related to choosing only 4GB of VRAM at the cut-down bus width of 64-bit (6600 cards have 128-bit). If they were to double the number of chips to make it 8GB, that would also double the bandwidth... Then you have the PCI-E bandwidth limitation, yeah, which means if you're on an older or budget system limited to PCI-E 3.0 as a lot of folks shopping this price range likely would be, that automatically gimps your performance by 10-20%.

"If you're on PCIE gen 3.0 then basically I guess, 'Fuck you'?"
Hahaha! Steve is a funny guy.

Why would they even waste the time and money on scheisse like this? Why not just launch a dedicated mining card so the cryptards stop buying GPUs? Better still why not implement a proper queue system for their buy direct to end the bot scalping? But that would make sense. I guess that's why Apple is a 3T company and AMD is only 165B.

All the super budget cards stink, more or less...;) I agree. As usual, people want really nice stuff for super-budget prices, generally, and they always pitch a fit when they don't get it. What is going to bother me is later in the year when high-end GPU production gets back to normal, I want to see AMD stick to its original MSRP pricing for their reference models! They are high enough as it is--don't want to see any higher. AMD store is still advertising the original pricing, but of course their in-stock quantity is still zero!
It is well known that I cannot err--and so, if you should happen across an error in anything I have written you can be absolutely sure that *I* did not write it!...;)
