Today many PC gamer's prayers are answered, as a Windows edition
of God of War is now available
on Steam.
This brings the much-loved PlayStation action/RPG to a new platform for the
first time. This
post on Steam offers gameplay tips along with the
Ultrawide Trailer with a look at PC gameplay. Then there's
this post with details on a new version 1.0.1 patch with a few performance
issues. Here's part of the game's description:

Its not 2005 any more. At least half the PR buzz about the original console game was about a few snippets of soft porn (just like other linear RPG/action games from mid 2000 to 2010 - Mass Effect, Dragon Age Origins etc. aimed at hormone engorged "yoots") long before porn became ubiquitous.
This looks to be the same old, same old console gruel of linear game play, cut scene, dialog, boss fight, occasional soft porn scene, rinse and repeat.
A glorified 30 minute Saturday morning animation for the short attention spanned.
I have yet to see a single reason to play this on PC.
