Uh, okay. Did they have their children produce the trailer? I have a couple of hundred hours in the game and that trailer almost makes me regret it.

I haven't played this yet but have meaning to.

Anyone know offhand if the combat is optional? Could I start up a game after this update and not have to worry about that?

There is no combat currently. That's coming later this year. Second half of 2022 was their last estimate. I have to assume (hope) that it will be optional. It's a pretty chill game you can play at your own pace.

Most of Nilaus's tutorials are good. I enjoy his streams as well.

Yea it's quite good. I never actually got far enough to finish a Dyson Sphere but I put quite a bit of time into it. I have mixed feelings on the combat update though. I don't think this game will benefit from combat, but we'll see how it's implemented. They've added a lot of QoL stuff since launch.

If anyone is thinking of picking this up and hasn't played yet, I highly recommend this tutorial on the grid system:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E-QekRlRDo&ab_channel=Nilaus

It describes how the square building grid is mapped onto the spheres of planets and moons, and how to work around the inherent limitations of that. You try to avoid building a row of assemblers along the meridian, for example. It will save you some headaches early on.

I have played that game when it came out and it was pretty good. If you like Satisfactory and/or Factorio, this might be your thing.
