Something we missed last week despite the quiet was news that a new Legatus Pack
2951 is now for sale for Star Citizen/Squadron 42, the two-headed
space simulation in the works at Cloud Imperium Games (thanks

Kxmode). The game recently hurtled
past the $400 million mark in its crowdfunding campaign, but the controls remain
pushed all the way to ludicrous speed with this collection of ships for the game
that will set you back $40,000. This is the latest version of a bundle of almost
every ship created for the still in-development games. It was first offered
a few years ago for $27,000. The
price has apparently increased because off all the additional ships that have
been added (or supply chain issues?). To see the offer or buy it you must be
part of the
Chairman's Club, which requires spending at least $1000 on the game.
Apparently Star Plebeians like us cannot even view it, but this
Reddit post discusses what's included.
The number values that get tossed around Star Citizen are fucking insane. $1000 spent on the game, to join a 'club' to be able to spend $40,000 on ships? Rofl! No one would believe you, if you tried to tell them that story about a video game prior to this cult. Those numbers literally don't even make sense, no game will be worth that kind of money in terms of entertainment experienced, even if this game actually ever gets released.
