That's the thing that bugged me the most when I saw it.Lowering the gear would increase drag and they were already at a low altitude.
It looks like this is correct. Apparently the plane's performance with one engine was so sketchy that putting down the landing gear, or even using the flaps, would have dropped it out of the sky. One of the main things investigators will be looking at is why this was, as the plane should have been able to get around with just one engine a lot better than it did. It was being used as a cargo plane and it might have been overloaded. Either way, what a great landing.

When Dinklage says that audiences were disappointed in the final season because they "wanted the pretty white people to ride off into the sunset together", I honestly don't think he's wrong about that. At least, I think that's what the more casual GoT viewers wanted, a happy ending with Jon and Daenerys sharing the throne, riding dragons together. For the more critical GoT fan, there was plenty else to complain about but I honestly do think we are in the (loud) minority.

1) Didn't you see that Blue posted a story on that this morning?
2) Did you take out the 40% the lawyers will skim off the top?

Riot Games agrees to $100 million settlement
By my math about $33k each for the 2,365 women. I wonder if they get to write that $100m off on their taxes. Wouldn't surprise me.

John Madden passed away. He was supremely entertaining. Back in the day when I watched football, I'd watch the local teams (like the Giants) then I'd watch whatever game Madden was calling, if I could. 85 is a good long life, especially for a football player. RIP.

I'm guessing it was frozen or mechanical failure? Could also be a hydraulics, but I expect a DC3 might have a handcrank.
They also decided that this would have to be a gear-up landing. The aircraft reportedly clipped the tops of trees, shortly before the runway. There is a video showing the Super DC-3 as it touches down, the crew trying to keep the working left engine off the ground as long as possible. We can also see that the faulty engine doesn’t appear to be feathered.https://mentourpilot.com/accident-super-dc-3-engine-trouble-gear-up-landing/
Any landing you can walk away from ia a good landing.
Why gear up?
