I picked this up on a sale ages ago and have yet to play it through. I have the original 2006 Prey. I played all the big AAA FPS current then, and Prey 2006 is the only one I would replay. Some of the level designs, especially those with gravity walkways were amazing. The mobs very pretty amazing and varied as well.
This new one just looks so squeaky clean and predictable, I quite 10 minutes in due to the boring seen it all before Deus Ex style environment and predictability.
It's the same with the Deus Ex series, I found the the original and Invisible War were very original in both visual design, unpredictable story twists, and unique locations, however after than the series just got less of those and a ton more bland and familiar, where 99% of the effort was in adding more polygons, higher detail, lens flares and particle effects, while the story and level design were short changed.

I bought and played this on GOG a last year. Fun game. I haven't played Mooncrash yet. From what I hear, you either love it or hate it.The Flying Penguin wrote on Dec 25, 2021, 11:47:
My only advise would be to read some suggestions on recommended neuromods to invest it. The first time I played the game, I really didn't pay attention to this my first playthrough and wound up getting stuck at a point where I could get past a particularly powerful enemy.
Second playthough a year later I did my research and finally finished the game.
I would advise the exact opposite. Do not read anything, and just play the game. Pay attention to the neuromod descriptions and pick what fits your play style.
What enemy could you not get past? I played it on the hardest difficulty and went in not knowing jack. I don't recall any enemies that you had to kill. The early game was tough and I ended up sneaking and running past most early on, but once you get the blueprint to make neuromods, and if you loot and recycle everything, you'll easily become an overpowered god.

Mooncrash was excellent and better than the main game, and the main game was great.
If you haven't played Prey, you need to grab it. Well worth the time.
