Once refund policies became a thing it totally broke the sale model. Hourly/daily sales used to be good promotional events because people would play and get their friends to play. Today however with refunds, the only thing those types of sales would do is cause the companies to lose money from refunds and buy backs at cheaper prices. So now there is only one fixed sale price for the duration of the event.

Looking over my wishlist, the discounts are the same they've been for all the other sales for the last year. I used to look forward to the xmas sale the most, but I guess there's no point anymore. If I want something, I can buy it during the Thanksgiving (or Halloween) sale for the same price.

I honestly don't understand how anyone will buy a 60$ game at full price . There are SO many great games at lower prices. Take Back 4Blood , I'm sure it's a great game and all , but who would fork out 60$ for it ? You can get both L4D games , Dying light, killing floor 1+2 and probably a couple of more zombie shooters and still you'll have money left over. Plus you have free bohemoths like Fortnite , valorant apex etc ,and a free game on Epic every week.. I think I have at least 10 games I own and really WANT to try but don't have time ..

I'm 20+ hours into Deathloop (got it when it was previously on sale). Damn good game if you're a fan of the Bioshock type games.
The game deserves GameSpot's game of the year award. Worth grabbing for half off.
