Free weekend and 1/3 off after one month, yikes.

I really can’t understand why DICE can’t release a finished game at launch. I loved BC1, BC2, and BF3 but they just keep going downhill. No one else makes a large scale fps like this either. Fuck this company.

It would take 2 years for them to make a decent BF experience with this game.

Go watch the hour and a half Angry Joe review of this game, and it explains all the issues and problems with this game.

Funny to see it still has the bug present in all Battlefield games since BF2 in 2005 where it sometimes labels an enemy as a friendly, and if you shoot them you get a team kill. (even tho friendly fire is disabled).

The graphics are really nice, and the guns feel great, but it's just so chaotic, and hard to see enemies, and hard to tell what is going on, it's basically random without any tactics or teamwork and no front line. On a public server with 128 players, you can't make any significant impact yourself, you can't stay alive. They need to give you more tools and functions to let you stay alive. Such as a cover system, slow the game down a bit too.

The zombies portal mode is funnily enough the most fun I had with BF2042 lol, it's like a huge game of sven coop since most zombies are AI

Someone call Chris Roberts, I have a new scam game for him to run. Large scale Battlefield PLUS type project. Crowdfunded, PC ONLY, and right up his alley because we will have aerial and space combat as well. In fact, after just a few years of funding we will probably be working on Battlefield Galaxy, but players will still be able to load up the Arena version and play deathmatch or cruise around in their vehicles. Can't fail.

Yeah, it reeks of desperation. It was out of the top 10 on Steam in just a couple of weeks. Dice/EA really screwed the pooch on this one, and likely their next game as well, even if it's well done and complete. They are going to take a bath on this.

It's still not 'finished' but there is some really interesting potential. I hope they put Kill-Feeds back in, as well as a more 'normal' scoreboard. Fix those two, and you are well on the way to a better BF experience. I'm hoping they will add more guns over time to the main BF2042 experience, but Portal already has a lot of extra weapons. Specialists are a bad choice (to me) compared to classes, but oh well, they still have some variation and most have utility. Maybe add something to the Engineer specialists like a free repair tool, like the medic classes have a free revive and/or free health gun.

BFV's fortification system is the biggest missing advance from previous games; aside from that, there are still the standard random amazing Battlefield events, sniping an enemy out of a vehicle mid air and stealing it, great C4 or other ambushes, classic flanks, etc. that make the game series great. Just don't expect to charge in as easily in the 128 player mode, there will be a LOT more random snipers etc.

Map design also is a bit weaker this game, with some maps simply WAY too open, for how good sniping and now LMGs are. I'd like to see them do a map revision pass or two and just add more simple structures, whether they be actual buildings, or just rocks and 18wheeler boxes or something, to cut down on the mega sniping lanes that are in some maps. Then, ADD MORE FUCKING VEHICLES per team, per mega map, damn.

It's also seemingly worse than previous BF games, in that it's really easy to get multiple rounds of inexperienced teammates, or teammates who refuse to play as a group/team. Then just as I am about to rage quit, I get a couple great squads of experienced or at least teamwork-friendly players, and it's like the good old days.
