Bowling, who served as creative strategist and community manager for Call of Duty at Infinity Ward, will take the role of studio head. DelHoyo, who designed levels and weapons for Gears of War and later worked on the Halo series, will serve as creative director.
The studio, which is backed by gaming entrepreneur Sumit Gupta, will aim to involve communities and influencers early in the development process as it transforms ideas into proofs of concept.
“Our players are the lifeblood of our games, and so often games get designed in a bubble, with few touchpoints for the players to help shape the final product before it’s too late,” said Bowling in a statement. “Our approach is completely open and focused on building experiences that evolve with our players.”

So what does everybody figure... 3 years tops? Or will it crash and burn in under 8 months.

Just throwing money at game design is a great way to learn making games is hard (and lose your money). Probably would be a better strategy to just start small / get a concept going and involve the early user base a lot, than feel like have to say it is gonna be AAA best game evar from the start.
It has been a while, so I kinda forget if the story of Law Breakers is one of not listening to anyone or just listening to an extremely small group. The end result though was definitely making about 200 people real happy and everyone else saying no thanks.
Anywhoo, making games for influencers seems silly to me, but people also still buy useless skins and XP packs, so what do I know...wacky times.

People love to hate on the Doc, but so many forget that he's just an alter-ego. A made up persona. A crass misogynist? Yeah, sure. But a MADE UP one. The Doc, doesn't really exist outside of our imagination. This is as much a marketing and publicity stunt as anything else. It doesn't matter if this crashes and burns, or produces no games.

Not sure if the Doc understands how much time and money is involved in making a AAA Battle Royale experience (assuming that's what he's making since that's what he plays) but it's going to take years to get it right. Anyway wish him the best or whatever and hope he comes out with a great product.
