Just throwing money at game design is a great way to learn making games is hard (and lose your money). Probably would be a better strategy to just start small / get a concept going and involve the early user base a lot, than feel like have to say it is gonna be AAA best game evar from the start.
It has been a while, so I kinda forget if the story of Law Breakers is one of not listening to anyone or just listening to an extremely small group. The end result though was definitely making about 200 people real happy and everyone else saying no thanks.
Anywhoo, making games for influencers seems silly to me, but people also still buy useless skins and XP packs, so what do I know...wacky times.
The timing was terrible for Law Breakers as well, with Overwatch, PUBG, and several other high profile FPSs coming out or rising in popularity at the time.
