There are Steam videos of the developer's other RTS, Syrian War. The videos for that aren't bad.

The Terminator game might or might not be like their previous RTS but I'm guessing that the publisher and movie studio picked them for a reason.

I see we are using the word 'gameplay' very loosely here. Looks like they setup a few models to endlessly shoot at each other and flew a camera over it.

Yeah, not sure what to make of this. Nothing really looked exciting in the videos except hearing the sound effects of the guns similar to the movie. I guess the idea overall has potential whether it was terminator or not as an RTS but I also feel we've seen that then already plenty. Heck, C&C Tiberian Sun had some Terminatorish vibes and it had nothing to do with Terminator, lol.

What's the point of this? If it's the beginning of the war we already know humanity loses. If they didn't there never would have been a Terminator to begin with. That's the problem with time-travel bullshit and alternate realities, it's all deus ex machina.

Well, I'm cautiously interested. It's hard to tell how this is going to play as an RTS from these videos, but I'll at least check out any RTS on release.

Their FPS game was... okay. Writing wasn't terrible, gameplay was okay, artwork was a step or two above a mod.

It's pretty good actually and it just received a new story DLC (Annihilation Line). It's definitely not "janky as fuck" either but it plays like a proper PC FPS.

On the positive side, the Terminator developer's other RTS is said to have good mod support. I heard it also focuses on realism and doesn't have construction and resource gathering etc. Ammo and fuel are also limited.

Slitherine is the publisher. Slitherine was also the publisher for another humans vs robots game. Battlestar Galactica Deadlock. Although that was done by a different developer group. Battlestar Galactica Deadlock is a great game, by the way. I like their skirmish mode better than their campaigns

Pretty easy to learn the basics and a very intuitive interface.

They really ought to update some of the first videos on their Steam page. Those were from an early alpha version that looks and plays nothing like the final version. Ships are rarely all bunched right next to each other like that. Galactica base game shows up pretty cheap during Steam sales. Definitely worth checking out on sale.

Ah. You are correct. On the game page they have Cats Who Play listed as dev. I just searched the names listed on blues news. Just makes it even more suspect to me that they didn't mention the actual dev team in the PR.

In the Terminator multiplayer game, can one side play the terminators or can players only control the various competing human factions?

They really ought to let us play as the terminators. You human meat-bags had your chance.

I'm a little more surprised that the movie studio gave that choice of developer an ok. Movie studios are getting even more risk-averse than game companies when it comes to controversies.

Not that I like their risk-aversion.

Anyway, I can't really fault them for going after at least one side of the Islamic extremists. Although it is largely backed by another faction of Islamic extremists in the whole Sunni vs Shiite mess.

I don't know where you got this information. I can't see this game on their sites. I only found a "Syrian Warfare" and that was done by Cats Who Play.
