FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE Next Week

Epic Games announces the FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE will launch on December 16th. Earlier this year evidence appeared suggesting the RPG remake was coming to PC. It was noted it would come at some point after today, so extra points to Wario64 for calling that shot. This will come to the Epic Games Store, where there are details and system specifications. Here's what to expect:
The classic RPG, that was rebuilt from the ground-up and released on the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5, will be arriving on the Epic Games Store on December 16. That’s next week!

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE brings both the main release and the FF7R EPISODE INTERmission DLC together in one package. Players will experience the sprawling city of Midgar as Cloud Strife and his team battle to stop Shinra corporation from draining the world of its energy.

This isn’t a remaster, but a complete reimagining of the original game from the ground up. Rather than completely remaking the whole game, the developers have focused all their attention on the opening city of Midgar, turning it into its own game for players to explore.

I don't think this is the game you think it is. Am I understanding this correctly? It's not FF VII. It's a different game based on the original.
It's basically a reimagining in the sense that it uses the same story beats from the original FFVII. From there, the game has narratively different pathing because it is a much more expanding experience.

For the most part, the story itself hasn't changed (see: Sephiroth trying to destroy the planet and reunite Jenova, Cloud's got the same mysterious past and relationship with Tifa, Aerith is still the last living Ancient) and most of the major story elements are the exact same (see: Market Wall/Corneo, destruction of Midgar lower Sectors, Shinra shenanigans, etc), but they have made it much more of a spectacle and expanded the story.

I will say that leaving Midgar does have a different experience than the original, so I don't know how much of the story is going to have modifications going forward.

Square irked some with Dragon Quest XI (PC)

Buy the game full price in 2018, a couple years later they launch the Switch Port (definitive edition) that had slightly worse graphics, some extra content, orchestral music OST (which you could mod into the original release) and features like faster battles. They didn't charge full price for the port, but close. They gave no discount to people that bought the original PC version, who wanted the new features. Not that I completely feel anyone is entitled to anything here, like a discount - this is just what happened and it stirred up some sh*t.

I expect full price for FFVII PC Remake with the DLC. Won't buy day-one, can't trust anyone with PC ports anymore. Also, the recommended specs seem extremely forgiving for running at 1440p, in my opinion which I base on how other PC ports of PS4/5 whatever games turn out on PCs for people with monster machines. We'll see.

Edit: to save people time, recommended specs assuming running at 1440p (which they specifically note, 1440p) : I7-3770 / R3 3100, Gtx 1080/Rx 5700 -- they do not mention target FPS for this spec. I assume not great.

Because its "new". They did the same thing with all the PS games that were ported to PC. Even one that was THREE YEARS OLD (Zero Dawn).

None of those were $70 on pc. Death Stranding started at $60 and Days Gone/Horizon Zero Dawn started at $50.
Square seems to be the first trying this and I hope they fail miserably.

Are they really going to charge $70 for it? Seems bit much, when you can get the PS5 version for like $45 right now.

But matters little EGS only, hard pass.
