Next BioShock Rumors

A tweet from a couple of weeks ago purports to offer details about the next BioShock game, showing a logo for BioShock Isolation (though there's a warning the title may change). This comes from a relatively obscure account called Oops Leaks. The tweet says the new BioShock is set in yet another isolated dystopian city, will use the Unreal Engine 5, and is being developed by Irrational Games veterans and others. Word is it will be officially announced in Q1 2022. A subsequent tweet takes a look at a presentation slide saying this "might" involve an above-ground city sharing a border with a second, subterranean city. To be clear, there are no particular bona fides to suggest this is accurate, but it has belatedly gone viral, and is being widely reported. This interest has inspired a new update with words of caution: "Since this has all gone viral, I want to remind you that since all of these screenshots are from 2019, the information there may be outdated. To avoid confusion, I will clarify some of the nuances." Here's some of that clarification, which, to be clear, is all unconfirmed at this point:
The game will not necessarily be called Isolation, take that as a working title. The studio itself does not fully understand what to call the game, but as far as I know, they will leave the numbered parts with Rapture, assuming its return in the future.

Ken Levine is not involved in development, he is working on the project inside his studio Ghost Story Games. The announcement of the game is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022, but I also do not exclude its appearance on the TGA, judging by the latest messages from Geoff.

Concept artists, environment artists, modelers, VFX specialists and level designers who worked on Watch Dogs: Legion, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Mafia 3, and so on are involved in the creation of the game. I didn't mean that the game will be made by their teams completely.

I cannot know the relationship between Sony and 2K, but I know that the development of the game is aimed to release on both PC and console, so I cannot confirm the exclusivity of the new #Bioshock for PS5.

I seem to be in reverse with these games. I could never get into the first 2 Bioshocks (although I loved the setting/environments), but I really enjoyed Infinite. I'm cautiously optimistic for this though.

I really enjoyed all 3, but felt the world of Infinite was far more enthralling to start.
The end was a whirlwind rush, and I enjoyed it, but the gameplay started collapsing for me. The giant mechanical Washingtons weren't fun.

But this remains the best AI escort mission of all time.

The original BioShock is one of my all time fave games. Sequel was very good too. But infinite seemed dumbed down, especially the graphical textures.
And becuase past great games became open world shite, I hope the next bioshock doesn't go the same way.
Quality, single-player, story driven games are going through an extinction. So fingers crossed.

I got the good ending on 1 by accident. Played 2 and infinite. I’ve replayed both one and two but Infinite is not high on my replay list. I’m sure I’ll play 4 if it looks good.
You can never have enough games in your backlog.😗

If it's rated well early by the early players I will buy it. I love these games. I just have a lot of doubts without Ken onboard.

There is no question, both statements are true... Levine is not working on BioShock anymore, he's making a new sci-fi immersive sim at his new studio (well, founded 7 years ago), Ghost Story Games. The devs at 2K making BioShock are named Cloud Chamber.

It's just a wording issue. Had they said "he is working on A project inside his studio.." it would have read fine. "THE project" is needlessly confusing.

Which one is it?
My question exactly...;)
It is well known that I cannot err--and so, if you should happen across an error in anything I have written you can be absolutely sure that *I* did not write it!...;)

The Booker you play in the game is one version of the character. The bad one is an alternate future version. Did you play the dlc? It makes it clearer.

No because I could never make the connection to it being Booker at all, alt or not. Maybe I'll give it another go, but DLC shouldn't be made to explain a bad story.

After the mess that was Infinite -- a Levine free Bioshock would be preferable.

Still don't understand how Booker became the bad guy in Infinite. I'm generally pretty good at following the story, but unless I totally missed something I didn't get it.
