Out of the Blue

Well, we're all cleaned up and mostly recovered from Thanksgiving here in the Blue Tower. One of the things I really like about the aftermath is the leftovers. MrsBlue makes the best turkey salad, and having enough turkey to make it is one of the reasons we made a whole (albeit small) bird for the two of us. Of course this will only stay good for so long, so I'll have to eat a lot of it. Fortunately that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Obituary: Stephen Sondheim, master of musical theater, dead at 91.

But where is Alameda?

You could make a killing renting out off-grid cabins. Screw Air BnB and do everything with snail mail. OG that shit.

I could but that would defeat one of the primary reasons for my undertaking that venture:

Getting as far away from people and "society" as possible.

Covid definitely leads to progress, that is, the progress of everyone understanding that their government is run by senile debile idiots that can't predict that after 6 months gone by 6 months have passed and that after Summer always Winter follows. And if you think I am joking, look at German Covid numbers which are nearly entirely produced by one of the dumbest governments I had ever the misfortune to experience - TWICE they opened in summer, forgot to vaccinate or buy boosters, ignored calls from Science and our experts and instead claimed "Freedom Day" will soon be upon us. My region just reached 1000 incidence numbers (in 100k. awesome) means 1% of the entire population is infected at the same time.

Needless to say, I will not ever again vote SPD or CDU ! GRMGL

Also, of course it was a German to come up with the best phrase to describe this 4th wave
Tyranny of the unvaccinated and ignorant

A democracy clearly can not cope with both at the same time.

If we can't force vaccines on them then make it as painful as humanly possible to function. Require daily tests in order to do anything like get groceries and ban them from every other aspect of life, no driving, no public transportation, no walks, etc. Make them virtual prisoners and make them pay through the nose for it.

In Nuremberg they've implemented 2G+ in some areas now. That means either a rapid test - only good for - 24 hours or a PCR - good for 48. And that's if you're fully vaccinated! I got turned away from a museum today for that. Motherfucker! All these no-mask, anti-vax cocksuckers are really fucking everyone else's shit up!

I only hope this doesn't become the norm for the rest of my trip or it's gonna get real fucking expensive real fast. At this point I think I need to look into blowing off Paris and coming back early. I decided to splurge a bit there and have gone upscale on my digs - in the Opera district, about a 5 minute walk from the Louvre. If I can't do anything without getting tested daily than there isn't a whole lot of point being there.

And all these measures are idiotic when hordes of people are out shopping in huge crowds and 99.9% of them aren't masking.

Interesting to note: Passing through those crowds today I overheard several conversations where I picked up the word "omicron".
