Discrimination: this used to be, "He called me a f*g" and move on in life. Now it's all lawsuits and cancellations for having called your female colleague 'mate'. Laughable now.

Not only is this incredibly exaggerated and not true, having your coworkers insult your sexuality, in an environment you cannot remove yourself, is such an obvious problem that it's shocking you think it's no big deal.

I'd wager any amount of money you've never worked at a large corporation, never managed a team of any form, and never had any characteristics that are routinely insulted (other than intentionally refusing to understand fairly simple events in the real world.)

Of course, you have 8 comments here, 3 of which whine about social situations that don't involve you, so it's hard to imagine you're here in particularly good faith and aren't just a dinosaur yelling at the kids to get off his lawn, even though they're 100 yards away and his lawn is a mudpit.

Do you have any actual evidence of this? Did a woman win a lawsuit because she was called 'mate' by a colleague? It seems like you just want to excuse discrimination. Although you are correct that back in the 'good ol days', women would put up with a hell of a lot more crap from men in the workplace than they do now. I call it progress.
