Would it be that hard for valve to produce a list that keeps titles limited to one slot? All the various editions count as one game. Is there a way to see that, anybody know? 6 games essentially take up 10 slots. I would be curious to see what the other 4 titles are, for example

I was really rooting for BF2042, it was going to be the first BF game I would have purchased in a long, long time. However after seeing the state in which it was launched (what's the deal with no score screens) and reading and watching a few reviews (Angry Joe's comes to mind) there is no way that I can in my right mind justify spending any cash on this game. Do you guys think that they will fix it at some point?
They'll fix it up. Dice is pretty good with the support and such. I'm gonna give it several months before checking back in.

Yes they will, stuff is usually fixed to a minimal acceptable level at least.

They WON'T fix it to the extent NMS was fixed though.

Many people online desperately want to seek out and feel group belonging. Therefore you will see a lot of people joining up complaining about Battlefield or whatever new game there is, so they fill out their empty existence with each other in a shouting match.
Most of the whining people haven't had 5 minutes of gameplay even.

Portal is great in Battlefield 2042

As an aside, did Valve ever explain why there are always duplicates on Steam's top 10 lists?

It's the multiple different versions you can buy of each game, they're tracked individually. Which basically means that the BF2042 standard pre-order, BF2042 standard edition, and BF2042 gold edition each sold well enough on their own to make that game the #1 product on the store for the week.

You can view the list on SteamDB and click through to see more details on some of them, it depends on how the listings are handled behind the scenes. I.e. we can only guess as to which two FH5 versions are on the list (standard, deluxe, or premium).

So much for boycotting shitty EA games

Personally I generally don't boycott companies because they are run by greedy assholes or garbage human beings. If I did I might as well not be a gamer. But I do avoid buying individual games from companies that are shitty cash-grabs with gambling mechanics or terrible design decisions, etc. That means I've been saving a lot of money lately.

I knew farming simulator was a bit popular but I had no idea it was popular enough to get that kinda pull on a preorder.

I just can't imagine having much fun playing a game like that. Like I've had fun playing cutesy farmy kinda things, but not a realistic farming sim.

Go look up the wheels and controls for the Farming games. Was like "really?" and the answer is yep!

I've seen Vanguard on stream, the whole single player was just a snooze-fest. Usually CoD at least does good campaigns but this time it was terrible. The multiplayer was even worse.

Battlefield 2042, despite how rough it is, is actually pretty enjoyable. I've skipped BF1 and BF5 and stuck to BF4 until 2042 came out. I knew the shape it was in and knew what I was buying, and I am enjoying it for what it is.
Still, this is a much rougher shape than any previous Battlefield title, even BF4 wasn't AS rough on launch...

Got 2042 gifted last night together with Vanguard, because I'm so easy to love. Haven't played 2042 yet but Vanguard's gunplay felt exceptionally well and the zombie mode alone is worth the 40 bucks.

Top 3 need to burn in a fire. Yes I said it. Fucking holiday cash grab.

Forza Horizon still hasn't gotten their server shit together yet (getting there), but been the most time I've put into a Forza game from launch then in the entire series.

Usually a crappy version of a game will reflect in the sales of the next title. So, stay tuned in two years for whatever next Battlefield Dice decides to release.

It will sell like hotcakes again after a couple of flashy trailers. How many times have we heard that THIS time it is REALLY the LAST time that EA/DICE are getting away with this or with that and all that blahblah... people never stick to their intentions. Battlefield and CoD will keep selling because many gamers are too weak to not buy these games.
