The first skirmishes of Battlefield 2042 are getting underway today, as
Early Access to the new installment in the shooter series has begun for
qualifying customers. This paves the way for the full official launch of the
game one week from today. So who gets in as of today? "Players who purchased the
game’s Gold or Ultimate Edition, as well as EA Play Pro subscribers will be able
to play starting today, and the Play First Trial for EA Play, Xbox Game Pass and
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will grant subscribers access for up to 10 hours."

from what ive heard, it justifies that
theoretically it could be the last BF game you need for many, many years to come
once I heard you can do scripting and "logic edits" etc, i realized it actually might be what we dreamed it could be

Not many games have had unmodded 128 player maps as standard. Let alone with proper joint ops gameplay....

outside of the bug that prevents you from joining a game I had no issues and I played for 7 hours last night. it was the first time I enjoyed a battlefield game since bfbc2.
Hoping this FPS can provide some 'casual fun' with its multiplayer... I'm burdened with intense team-focused titles, and fast tactical shooters.
Launching 5 platforms at once was always going to be a disaster. I don't understand why big devs keep trying to do this, they just don't want to give an inch to the competition? Or can't tolerate the bitching and moaning from social media with a staggered release? Seems like everyone loses with a buggy launch.
It will be discounted 50% by the spring, and way more stable with new content. Just takes patience.

EA is doing them a favor.
I only had time for the forced bot match when you first launch the game before work. It's hard to judge from that, but frame rate is disappointing. It's not choppy or anything per se, but on a 5950x with a 3080 Ti I'm getting drops to less than 100fps and that's with DLSS ON and default settings.

Returned my Gold Edition via Steam this morning with 111 mins played. SOOOOOOO many bad gameplay decisions :/

This is a budget Battlefield Game. Almost to the point of being a mobile phone type game in terms of gameplay with much better graphics and just as bad UI.
Was streaming for about 4 hours going through everything from initial setup, binding keys, looking through all the gameplay modes, configuring weapons/vehicles/unlocks, etc.
If ya want to watch its up to you, but Here ya go.
I am very surprised at the quality of the game, and am very glad I am only renting it from EA Pro vs paying for a full price game.
