launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has
been a bit of disaster. A

from Rockstar Support acknowledges that the services for the Rockstar Games
Launcher and supported titles "are temporarily offline for maintenance." That
was yesterday afternoon, but that temporary outage persists. This doesn't just
prevent players from playing the newly released remakes, but other Rockstar
Games as well. As of this time, the new GTA Trilogy bundle is no longer for sale
for Windows on the
Rockstar Store. A

from the wee hours this morning says work at getting things restored
continues, thanking players for their patience and understanding. At this point
there's no explanation of what is causing the problem.
steam was released way before HL2. I remember we ran a set of TFC servers and website, plus a big natural selection server farm too. We all got steam at release and added day of defeat to our roster (which continued right through our TF2 days). I have a five digit steam ID (plus username that is a long lost email address as you had no choice back then). HL2 came a while afterwards.
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
