from Rockstar Support acknowledges that the services for the Rockstar Games
Launcher and supported titles "are temporarily offline for maintenance." That
was yesterday afternoon, but that temporary outage persists. This doesn't just
prevent players from playing the newly released remakes, but other Rockstar
Games as well. As of this time, the new GTA Trilogy bundle is no longer for sale
for Windows on the
Rockstar Store. A

from the wee hours this morning says work at getting things restored
continues, thanking players for their patience and understanding. At this point
there's no explanation of what is causing the problem.
Rather would have Red Dead Redemption with the RDR2 engine on PC.

It has been cracked since yesterday and word is it's working perfectly.
But surely the single-player game is no fun being played without online authentication? Right, guys? No forced online = game no fun? Right? Rockstar knows this. They care about gamers.
Screw this. I've invested definitely tens of thousand of $$$ or €€€ in games and hardware over the last decades. But with the plague of mining and games becoming service games, I think it is time to leave that behind me. I got a looong backlog of old games that are hopefully playable with a current OS and 2020s hardware. And they can be played OFFLINE.
