Activision Apologizes; Removes Quran from Call of Duty: Vanguard

A tweet from Call of Duty Middle East puts out an apology to a portion of Call of Duty: Vanguard that depicts a copy of the Quran on the floor, which is considered by Muslims to be disrespectful. Activision says this was not supposed to be part of the game, and it has now been removed. VGC has a translation of the post, since it's in Arabic:
“Call of Duty is made for everyone”, the tweet reads in Arabic. “There was content insensitive to Muslims included in the game, and it has been removed. It was not supposed to exist as it appeared in the game. We deeply apologise.

“We are also taking all necessary measures at this moment within the company to determine and understand the situation and to avoid such errors in the future.”

Let it sink in that the entire gaming community was offended by the Mass Effect 3 ending. Not a peep from Bioware. In fact, they rightfully defended their ending calling it creative freedom or whatever. But when a level designer puts a Quran on the floor of the house of Heidi from Austria because she's a book collector ignorant of Islamic beliefs, that just can't go. "But... Heidi...?" No. Fuck you and your Heidi.

🤯

Didn't they remake the ending?

Anyway people said it sucked, that's a completely different thing to being allegedly disrespectful.
