That rumored power consumption seems fairly absurd, and I doubt that's accurate. If true, it means they'd require/recommend pairing it with a 1000+ watt power supply, which is ridiculous. It would force the majority of users to also upgrade that as well, which is quite expensive.
If you think a new psu is pricey, just wait till you see how expensive next gen gpu’s.
This ain’t a cheap hobby.
It was an expensive hobby *before* the cost of major components tripled. At these prices, I'm content gaming at medium settings. I like PC gaming, but I don't like it enough to spend 3K on it, when the price should be 1.5K. Better to invest that money and by the time PC components come down, you'll have enough for a really nice PC.
