Kerberos Productions has launched Sword of the Stars: The Pit 2 - a sequel to Sword of the Stars: The Pit, the science fiction Roguelike which many players still list among the best of the genre - into Early Access today.
In beta, The Pit 2 has moved from 2D to a full and vibrant 3D environment. Instantly clear to players will be new features, such as mini-bosses, and player advancements such as the ability to break down items into components which can then be re-used to craft different items. Alongside the perspective shift which allows for full camera control, and the more flexible approach to crafting, players get a preview of the variety of weapons, armors, and scavenged items that Kerberos fans have come to expect from the original game and its DLC.

eRe4s3r,
The M&M X Legacy DLC should be available ONLY after completing the game's main quest :
You'll get an instruction to travel to Karthal, go into the Vigil and back out and that triggers the DLC to start.

I really liked M&M10 ...
... Funnily enough I only have the base game, no idea how to even buy the DLC at this point.
eRe4s3r, you already own the DLC, you just don't know it
Ubisoft made the DLC free as a placating gift after fixing the server debacle thing.

Their "audience" if not already leaving them to burn after SOTS 2 100% left them to drown after The Pit Infinity - Hoards of Glory and Planetary Control
And SOTS 2 is the good game, despite all it's absurd level of coding flaws.
So sorry for being cynical, but all that trailer did for me was wonder whether this is just a game tech demo they dug up from the 2000 era.
And to be fair, with no money what else are they gonna do... but at least they should modernize SOTS1 if they still even own the rights for that.
Interested in The Pit Infinity, as a solo FPS permadeath roguelite if offline (coop too).
30% off if buying "The Medics and Mercs Bundle":
Game + 2 DLCs is cheaper then the game alone, what ?!.
Tempted to buy, but reading the last august patch and commentaries on the Community Hub Discussions, some rather dire problems are mentioned.
So, after 5 months they can't fix some basic things, why get involved in another game, rather mediocre as per the trailer ?
Note to "eRe4s3r" on previous post:
Totally delighted replaying Might & Magic X Legacy (on Seahaven).
This was made for me, admittedly a niche preference.

I wish they would do a Sword of the Stars III and compete with Stellaris and Sins of a Solar Empire.
This is not their forte and it definitely shows.
I think their audience cares more about the mechanics than the graphics. The original Pit was a 2d retro style roguelike. It didn't have fancy graphics. It sold reasonably well so...
Slashman wrote on Oct 23, 2021, 23:04:Most of the audience that loved The Pit 1 hated the Pit Infinity another 3D version and so far this 3rd Pit game in 3D is not what the original audience wanted or liked. It seems like a bit of a gamble to me to go down this path. Is there enough of an audience for a 3D version of the pit? Perhaps they should have made a better/newer 2D version of the Pit.Burrito of Peace wrote on Oct 23, 2021, 21:55:Slashman wrote on Oct 23, 2021, 20:30:

As I did not mention graphics nor was my post in reference to them but did specifically mention 4X space games, which SotS 1 and SotS 2 were, your response has no bearing on my post.

I was responding to this statement. They have done a successful Sword of the Stars: The Pit already. It had several expansions so I would say this is definitely their forte. It may not be the game for you or me...but it does have an audience.

Surely that video is not the one they meant to show us.. RIGHT? It looks.. atrociously bad.
