Well, considering they have found five other bodies, which they think are not related, since the search started... I'll definitely wait for a confirmation of the ID before assuming he is out of reach.
difference; they found his personal items nearby. gators probably got him. why would you ever hide out in a swamp where there are predators for whom eating humans is no biggie?

Anyone getting a pig's kidney is unaware of the consequences. The drugs that keep your body from rejecting such make you a walking germ target. With covid around your chances are not good unless you become a hermit.
As to climate change, I find it amazing how many idiots think it is ok to destroy our economies when doing so will hardly make a dent in climate change. I am all for doing whatever we can do to limit the effects, but not destroying people struggling to make ends meet.. These activists conveniently tend to ignore that many of their policies drastically increase energy prices which affects the poor far more than any other class.

On a personal note, took a bad fall mountain biking sunday. Landed hard on my left hip. I can still walk (albeit with pain - mostly hamstring) and I biked 3 miles back to the car with no problem. Saw the doctor today who confirmed nothing likely broken, but having an MRI done tomorrow to see if there's any tendon damage.

Well according to the article, the breakthrough is that the pig was genetically modified to remove the gene that causes rejection in humans. They also want to use this for heart valves and skin grafts.
This was a short test - only 3 days - to prove that the kidney would function properly (it did) and there was no instant rejection (there wasn't). There may still be long term rejection issues as with normal transplants that will be discovered in future test, but this is very promising.
