This is pretty hilarious, what niche demographic did I come from, and what gaming concepts are more mainstream now to take that away from said demographic?
You're in the "unhappy that Lara Croft is now a human being and not a badly rendered pair of tits" demographic.
Another glorious case of selective attention. Gee I guess this small pile internet troll tweets must be a whole movement.
Your fave media sure as shit did their thing though, digging deep to look for absolutely anything to be offended by.Tomb Raider's Crystal Dynamics apologizes for sexual assault misunderstandingDoes Tomb Raider's Lara Croft really have to be a survivor of a rape attempt?
It looks like more people complained about the Tomb Raider 2018 movie went out of their way to pick a smaller breasted lead that looked much younger than previously presented. (It is understood it is supposed to be a bit of an origin story, but they pushed it further than the game already did)
At the end of the day though, a pile of clickbait articles basically being "some dude said something on the internet" and inferring this must be all gamers. Then proceed to go back to making "The End of Gamers" articles.
Did some dudes say some dumb stuff about Tomb Raider breasts, sure. But most old school fans have more nuanced notes: Tomb Raider: A Tale of Two Laras
Fundamentally Tomb Raider was a fairly light hearted/fantastical action game series that turned into one trying to be more gritty and "realistic". Some past fans are going to be turned off a big change like that. Me personally, I got Tomb Raider 2013 on mega sale a while back and was entertained enough to be content as I was not super invested in the old games.
