Yeah, god forbid he makes video games and ends up a billionaire like Notch. There's zero shortage of multi-millionaires in the games industry. If I had kids I've be pushing them into it - unless they were taking a medical or science track.

It looks like G4tv has been on youtube for about a year, I'm curious if making a TV deal means they get more money, or have to spend more money to be on there. The idea is generally conflicted as most of the demographic is not a big fan of classic cable, however I can see how they would want to try and stand out from the already pretty full video game coverage on places like Youtube and Twitch.

I watched G4 back in the day, not really being super impressed, but more from a "well at least it is something" approach when it came to video game show availability.

My son wants to make video games his career. I'm trying not to hate this. Hey, he puts up with a journalist mom…

lol!

Heh solid headline zinger. Not all schools are equal, but at least can go to places to try and specialize in video games these days. Not that long ago basically you had to teach yourself and start up a Mod just to have a way to even begin to make a portfolio. That said, not every youngen understands that Beta tester is just a starter slot and if want to make a career out of game development, you're going to need to bring more skills to the table.
