Out of the Blue

This is the fifth anniversary of our dear friends adopting Jedi the Jindo, my best canine buddy. Jedi was rescued from Korea, where he spent his early days as a stray, followed by a stay on death row where he was destined for a dinner menu. Based on that, it was no surprise that in his youth he had a tendency to escape and run all over town trying to raise hell. What is a surprise is that he's turned out to be such a solid citizen, and a wonderful family pet. I like to think that the Gunnar-man was a positive influence during the years they walked together, as he was about the best-behaved dog I've ever met. Anyway, I need to find a way to visit and take the little fluff ball for a walk to celebrate his anniversary.

Discovered this amazing YT channel, where jazz musicians redo pop tunes as classical jazz.

- No Doubt's Don't Speak as a 1960s Bond theme song.
- Blondie's Call Me if it had been recorded by Marilyn Monroe.
- GnR's Sweet Child done as New Orleans jazz, with an incredible vocal performance by Miche Braden.

Check out the full list done over the last 8 years or so. Good stuff.

You just discovered them? I've been listening to them - off and on - for years now. My fave cover of theirs is a doo-wop version of Miley Cyrus' We Can't Stop. Love the guys doing the background harmonies.

Speaking of great covers, this is one of The Beach Boys Sloop John B which is impressive, especially given how many people were involved.
