Completely disagree, they need to get through each and every game as fast as possible to be able to write about it. Where as you and I don't have to play everything under the sun and can take more time learning the mechanics and subtleties of the select few games we actually enjoy. Hence why every Multiplayer review is a shallow joke from people AWFUL at the game. Games journalist now are a joke and are more concerned about politics/wokeness of a game then actual mechanics.
That's true. They are video games fans, but they don't have the time to play the games they love and be good at. I've written for a few magazines in the past, and each time I plaid an FPS against journalists at an event, it's been a massacre.
There are some exceptions. Like me, because I was a part-time journalist. But very few.
