Not sure about the cards and roguelite aspects. What do y'all think?
Well, it surely can't do worse than Aliens: Fireteam Elite - which also featured Challenge Cards but had no roguelite or randomization aspects to speak of. That game is moreorless already dead because developers Cold Iron clearly have no understanding of how keep a player base interested. Even the matchmaking is rubbish, so most people moved on to other games - like WWZ: Aftermath and probably also now B4B.
Reviews of B4B seem to be pretty positive but I'm on the fence about it. I played the last open beta and wasn't impressed much at all - despite being marketed as a L4D "spiritual successor", it seemed to lack that special something (sauce?) that the L4D games had. Even the playable characters themselves seemed bland and uninteresting in comparison to their predecessors.
