This game has milked the controversy about as far as I can stomach. All I've seen of gameplay so far is a typical generic shooter. Nothing deeper or more innovative. We'll see at launch.

It makes me think that the controversy is the only selling point they have.

Well the development backstory is a bit of a silly controversy ride. When originally making progress in 2009 I don't think they planned on being edgelords. People that weren't going to buy it anyway were perhaps declaring "too soon" for a game based on a real event. Now many years later, the same folks still find something to complain about. Meanwhile we've had piles of other games that included "Arab" bad guys.

At the end of the day though, not exactly groundbreaking gameplay.

I love the hilarious full circle here. You come in here crying about "How long before CNN complains about killing Nazis in video games?"

Then you proceed to complain about the depiction of racists and Nazis in video games about killing said Nazis. I remember when "woke crazy town" referred to things like "microaggressions" and "math is racist." Now it apparently refers to anything that depicts Nazis as Nazis? Your version of "woke crazy town" includes everything that isn't the nearest MAGA rally, Cletus.

Literally all you do here is cry about imaginary wokeness.

"The Boy Who Cried Woke" starring Fake Captain Mayonnaise.

This all started, as others already mentioned, it is about as ridiculous to call 6 days in Fallujah an "Arab murder simulator" as it would be to call the storming of Normandy an Aryan murder simulator. Bad people got wrecked in both, and CNN just wants to paint one as some sort of oppression.

Since you master projectionists couldn't agree on that apparently, you had to bring up one of the worst examples of imaginary hard right complaining.

I already explained it to you and you are just lalalalala over there. Show me a tweet reply that was like, "I'm a full on card carrying Nazi and I'm offended". Your research level is hmm, this is a Washington Post article I already agree with the headline, it must be true. Imagine that, a left leaning site took a couple tweets out of context, and then declare it a whole movement, geee never seen that before....
The tagline is modern day political so people called it CORRECTLY, that some woke shit was coming in the game. But no, you want to play dumb ass word games like saying anyone against Antifa must be for Nazis because Antifa stands for Anti Fascist. You know who else plays words games? Wait till you find out Nazi is short for National Socialists or the Democratic People's Republic of Korea isn't exactly known for Democracy.

Wolfenstein II is basically a story of 6 million Jews killed, black people most effected. And you all over there, this cannot be critiqued. Sorry you don't mind or are incapable of seeing forced political messaging injected into games, but not all of us suffer from your issue. Just call it what it is, you approve of their message whether it is traditionally appropriate to the game or not.

There are people who complain about Nazis getting killed in games, but they aren't at CNN. When one of the recent Wolfenstein games was released, some people felt they were being personally attacked because some of the marketing used the phrase "Make America Nazi-Free Again" in a game where you in fact, attempt to make America Nazi-free again. Similarly, the depiction of a midwestern cult in a Far Cry game got backlash from the same group of people.

I doubt many people were offended by the exact words, but more about the over the top wokeness injected into Wolfenstein II when the rest of us remember the good ol days where every one just enjoyed shooting nazis. Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Father Cutscene
Maybe, just maybe you are trying too hard when you make the "Christian" father comedicly racist, smack his "jew" wife, smack his own kid around, the dog, and then make the kid kill the dog all while somehow also talking about queers.

Thus it becomes an issue when Antifa types call absolutely anyone they disagree with a Nazi, that we are no longer just talking about the Nazis we all once agreed upon.

So a video game offended you.

I'm shocked.

Sure offended as in trying so hard to be woke that the writing makes no sense even in an alternate universe. I'm offended by other shit games all the time, woke not required. I'm offended by pay2win games, yada yada

Dude.... none of it makes any sense,

It does. You're just ignorant of the realities of the past. "Queer" was the predominant slur against homosexuals in the 20s and a few decades afterwards and there was virtually no acceptance of that identity. I'm not sure what history you've studied where country bumpkins in that time period weren't virulently racist and homophobic. Also it's funny that you mention dying on hills, seeing as how you die on every hill you see, seemingly going out of your way to be as wrong as possible on as many subjects as possible.

I'll refrain from in depth comment on your problems with breast feeding or whatever the fuck you were talking about.

The fact you you blindly ignore why this imaginary KKK character supposedly has a Jewish wife from the start of ridiculous character traits and then try to talk down to me about studying shows maybe pointing out what is woke just isn't for you.
This is literally the most woke crazy town set of cutscenes forcibly injected into in a AAA game I have ever seen, so yeah, I'm not letting it slide. At a minimum it is lazy to portray a character as every virtue of evil all in 1 cutscene. Evil especially in a family setting is much more subtle and that is how people end up in conflicted relationship situations.

The obsession with black race commentary is pretty insulting coming from devs mostly not even in the USA, that do it so much so that I can't even think of a time Jewish people were mentioned in this NAZI game besides the token mom scene....before the Nazis even existed

Oh gee thanks for the queer "lesson", in context of characters that absolutely were not doing anything considered queer even at that time.

Sounds like you haven't played the game, so maybe you should stop making arguments based on your feelings of the time or whatever the fuck you are doing.

Why would anyone think that there aren't people looking to push their politics on children via video games?

Entertainment in all forms are being used to push narratives that support foreign policies of various countries, and those foreign policies are driven by those who make money from conflict.

When I was a kid, we didn't have videogames, so the vector was kids cartoons like Rocky and Bullwinkle and Roger Ramjet - and if you look at them through an adult's eyes it's OBVIOUS these were politically motivated propaganda productions to show the Soviets as Evil, and the US as the Heroes. Much like TV shows such as "Homeland" (which receives funding from governments interested in portraying Iran negatively).

When we started getting video games, we started getting Nazi games, and are STILL getting Nazi games - whilst we have countries out there today involved in ethnic cleansing and murder that would make far more relevant subjects if the point was to 'improve' awareness of the evil in the world in young adults.. but obviously, it's about portraying certain people as evil and others as good. What better way to groom future generations for the meatgrinder that is VERY profitable endless conflict.

Some people grow up with abusive fathers who did all that kind of shit and more, and given that virtually everyone in America is Christian in that time period, what the fuck else is he gonna be? That's not an outlandish or "woke" depiction at all. Though, the world would be a better place if it was equally inconceivable to all of us.

Also, this controversy popped up before the game even came out so the content was not relevant to peoples outrage.

Dude.... none of it makes any sense, he is like every bad guy stereotype jammed into 1 character who comes out looking worse than the actual main Nazi characters of the game.
Why does he have a Jewish wife he hates?, why did he suddenly change to a raging awful character?, Why is he acting like his young child is 18 and having sex with a black girl?, the absolute forced usage of the word queer out of no where, and it keeps going. I dunno man if this the hill you want to die on for "this isn't woke" there are better battles to be fought.

That's just one example, not to be forgotten is the Black Panthers female character that knows/does everything, breast feeds, and hates on white people the whole time.

The controversy occurred because it was obvious the developers wanted to make a game that historically wasn't political, suddenly be political. Wolfenstein: The New Order had no noteworthy controversy because none of this woke shit was in it.
