Out of the Blue

Well, the official US launch for No Time to Die is tomorrow, but there are showings today, which I suppose are considered sneak previews or something. I recently got to the point where I was contemplating seeing this in the theater. I've attended a few matinees in years past, and often found myself in a theater with a total of four or five other patrons. I thought with reserved seating I'd be able to determine a sparse showing in advance, and alleviate MrsBlue's fears I will bring the pandemic home with me. Basically I was told that attending the movie in this manner would be fine, as long as I spent the following two weeks quarantining in a hotel. So yeah. So much for that plan.

I feel your pain Blue. I'm dying to see Dune in theaters. Okay, maybe that's the wrong word. You know what I mean. If delta hadn't come along, I probably would have gone to a weekday matinee, as you mention. But with delta still raging, just not worth the risk, esp with my son under having some health issues of late (we're all vaxxed, but delta is nasty shit). I'll just have to watch it on HBO. Still haven't picked up a TV since my last one died last summer, so I guess I'll do that first...
Ditto. I haven't gone out to eat in restaurants, church, etc.

a bottle jack normally sorts a bike lock out.
If you’ve properly captured the bike rack, frame, a crank and the rear wheel there’s no room left inside a Ulock to stick a bottle jack in there.
Years ago the news was mentioning how aerodynamic a new Boeing jet was and a friend said if you strap enough power to a boulder you can make it fly. That same person said locks are for honest people.
If criminals want your bike they will either learn how to pick locks or cut through the bike rack. But more often than not they will pick an easier target.

I wanted to say that I like that videos from VideoSift are splitted and both links are available. Noticed this change since a few days and wanted to make sure to let you know that I appreciate this,

I also appreciate it, Blue. I have no great hatred for VideoSift, but if it's originally a YouTube video I prefer to watch it on YouTube, with their controls, and to read the original summary and comments. Thx.

The thing is theatres are enclosed spaces where the AC rarely refreshes the air as those areas have no windows and are usually well insulated. Thanks to F*ckUbook and 230, there will always be a few unvacinated mouth breathers who wear masks to get in but who remove them almost immediately.

Fascinating, although I guess that was to be expected at some point.

And no, it's not about the pandemic woes, but other very logical root causes in some cases.

Very interesting read. Thanks Blue.

That Star Atlas website is pretty cool actually. Game itself looks pretty sketchy though. NFTs and blockchain? I bet Chris Roberts wishes he'd thought of that.

Wow, that supply chain article is certainly eye opening. Once again, we see "free" trade, virtually unregulated markets, the decimation of unions, and lack of anti-trust as the problem.
