I never got too far into this game ever. I recall it had real nice graphics (back then) and I would be frustrated by the flashlight mechanics, lol. One of my buddies however preaches that it was a fantastic experience if I would stick it out further.

Perhaps I'd be willing to give this remaster a shot. Just hate to pay for something I already have and never got too far into. Wish it was a free upgrade for existing owners...

Same here. I thought it was mostly garbage back in the day. On PC it came out two years after the console versions because Microsoft wanted it as an exclusive on their precious Xbox and they gave the PC version zero effort back then. It was a poor port, poor controls, dated graphics after these two years and I never got very far either because of the annoying floaty controls when trying to direct the flashlight at anything in the pitch dark.
I would also give it another chance, hoping that the PC issues have been improved upon, but only if the remaster would be free for existing owners. No way am I going to buy this, unless maybe for $4.99 on sale in a couple of years, and only if people report that the PC version finally plays pleasantly well.

Could never get into this game, camera angle is just way too stupid.

Just hoping a mod pops up that fixes it, then I'll give it another try.

I played it to completion and once was enough.

Honestly? Its one of those games that feels like they could just throw it into VR with the mechanics it has, and it'd be fine.

Wish this was out on Gamepass day one but it's not. It's a Microsoft game so it should be but alas.

It's not a Microsoft game. It's out on the PS4 and PS5. 100% not a Microsoft game. The original release was published by Microsoft, but this one is published by Epic.
I see.

This happened to me also.
One solution, infinite flashlight charge and I enjoyed the game to its conclusion.

Don't let aspects you dislike, to fustrate you Wall
Finally enjoy hundreds of forsaken games, or rediscover favorite games with new possibilities :
- Trainers (Fling, etc)
- Ingame cheats or console in developer mode.
- Hacking configuration files.
(Steam userdata, or Windows/User/Appdata/Local-Roaming-LocalLow, or Documents, MyGames, or Unreal Engine 4 Unlocker, savegame editors, etc.)

** Or so much better **

- Cheat engine,
make tables yourself for *any and all* PC games -not on online mode-, emulators, etc:
Now you have ascended and really own your games Sunny

I bought the original version on some mega sale, and loved it, far beyond whatever expectations I had. Interesting story, great music, acceptable combat, nice overall design.

If people never played the original they should definitely get the remaster, at least on sale.
