Epic Games Store
as the store's latest giveaway. You don't to dig a tunnel behind a pinup poster
or walk the green mile to get in on the deal. Just claim in by next Thursday and
it's yours to keep. After that

The Escapists is a unique prison sandbox experience with lots of items to craft and combine in your daring quest for freedom. How is it? I mean for a freebie, obviously I could just search for reviews for what it is like retail. If anyone here has even mild praise for it I will probably give it a go at $0. Worst case scenario I waste 15 minutes figuring out that I don't care for the title.

The Metacritic was in the lower 70s, but I would trust Steam reviews over Meta. Thanks, I always forget to check Steam for EGS things simply because they used to be largely exclusive with their freebies.

The Escapists 2 was awesome... skipped the original though due to lack of co-op.
Their new game though, The Survivalists, was so boring! What a disappointment.

Look the epic games store client is shitty and poorly designed but it is not spyware. That's been debunked many many times
Also I saw the initial reddit posts years ago and the guy who posted it even said more or less he has no idea what he is talking about..
It's ultimately your choice, but imho I'm pretty sure it is not malware. Just programmed poorly.
