Out of the Blue

Here's a reminder that there's a THQ Nordic showcase at 3:00 pm EDT today to show off some upcoming games. Word is no fewer than six new projects will be unveiled for the first time, so it will not be a particularly quiet Friday. You can tune into the festivities via whatever flavor of stream you prefer, Steam, Twitch, or YouTube.

As the delta variant spreads, public health leaders approved health care rationing in Idaho and parts of Alaska and Montana.
Possible more, time will tell : Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas.

Watch out people, drive carefully, take your medications.

Scoring system: the higher the less attention you'll get.
Being younger, pregnant, or a relevant health carer is lucky.
Even so, if your response to treatment is too slow, it can get you out.

Liver or kidney damage, poor oxygen and blood clotting, cancer, diabetes, and other infirmities, or being too fat, aren't lucky.
Finally if too many, with a similar handicap, a lottery (not kidding).

Both Idaho and Montana, won’t consider whether a person is vaccinated.

Doctors, may not attempt resuscitating, too much resources for a low number of successes.

I suppose other considerations will begin to weigh, even if not publicly.
How many sons/daughters does this man support ?
Is he/she a firefighter or an ex-convict ?
City standing good or on social rations ?

Good luck !

Christ, what utter fucking trash. It shits all over the entire point of the original to deliver a "message". If someone wants to make a movie about racial injustice, please do, but don't try and tie it to a well known horror icon.

Absolute garbage, I agree...;) Wife and I saw the previews and just started laughing--the original movie wasn't very good, but at least it wasn't racist, like this thing appears to be. Hollywood--getting worse by the day--soon they'll be so far away from the real world that the bottom will fall out of the whole movie industry. Usually I won't comment on something like this--a movie--but your sentiment echoed ours, so it's worth a line or two. Can't fight racism with racism...;) It's like firemen bringing flamethrowers to a 9-alarmer instead of water and foam...!
It is well known that I cannot err--and so, if you should happen across an error in anything I have written you can be absolutely sure that *I* did not write it!...;)

You're not wrong. People hike the other, non-developed ridgelines often, against common sense. This guy died up on Olomana Trail after falling 400 feet. And this woman died hiking Crouching Lion after falling 200 feet. So even if removed, people would likely try to reach that peak on the same trail. That said, there's a movement to try and preserve the stairs and reopen them. I've heard the view is to die for.

Well, most people ARE annoying...

I found most of the characters "realistic". But I do have a taste for well-done films with dysfunctional families -- August: Osage County and The Kids are All Right are two good examples. Not sure why I enjoy them. I'd say my immediate family was emotionally dysfunctional, but overall compared to the rest of the world definitely in the "normal" range. I guess maybe part of it is to watch and feeling some relief that even if my childhood wasn't great, at least it wasn't a complete and total shit show.
