Imagine taking a website with a barely a gamer among them doing a rare review to only say it stinks and then thinking that website is the best review you can get.

Anyone who listens to ars technica on anything should probably rethink their standing in life. Let's not forget what Naste owned websites were before the Hogan lawsuit, they've barely improved.

This is the same website/reviewer that said Knockout City is the best game they've played in years.

Nast? It's Conde Nast. No one calls it Nast.
Hogan? You mean Hulk? That was Gawker.

You're confusing Ars with Kotaku. Except Kotaku has gamers on staff.

Basically, you seem angrily confused and factually incorrect.
Hogan lawsuit?

Was going to pick this up but then I read all the Steam reviews about Denuvo producing awful stuttering even on an RTX 3080 and am giving it a hard pass. Shame, as the game looks really unique and fun.

I looked at the trailer on Steam and was completely unimpressed--it's like someone's really weird idea of a Shaft/No One Lives Forever1&2 game, even to the Bond-esque music tracks...;) It seemed uniquely bizarre. Did not look appetizing. Bon Appétit.
I also hated Groundhog Day™ the movie...;)
Thanks for your review !
Now I know that game will be probably among the best.

The Ars review has nailed it with their verdict:

Verdict: Bethesda's biggest disappointment in years. Wait for a sale (or a "definitive" edition).

I'll wait for both. A sale of the definitive edition .

I think I'll wait until this is on Gamepass; it being Arkane it's probably a veritable work of art with great gameplay, but these sort of hybrid-PvP type experiences never work out as planned in the real world and I can't be bothered having my immersive sandbox-y trial-and-error experience meddled with by someone exploiting the latest meta tactic to insta-ruin my game.

FYI, as well as anyone else turned off by this: PVP is optional. Just like in Watch_Dogs, Dying Light, Dark Souls, and any of the other games with this sort of feature, you just play offline if you don't want to interact with other players. Although, your "invader" plays more of a central role in Deathloop, so it'll still be there under AI control.

I haven't even looked at any reviews yet. When I saw the Denuvo and Bethesda BS, it went instantly to not interested. Maybe like Prey, it will be on GOG in a year or so with all that crap stripped out.
Good idea, if they fix this or make moddable so the community can fix it, GOG might be the solution.

I expected better from Arkane. The textures are awful, the engine looks like the same engine from Prey and Dishonored. The animations are terrible but probably the worst aspect is the AI. It is dumb as rocks. And Denuvo.

Have you played it?
The majority of reviews are overwhelmingly positive. What basis are you using to say they "nailed it?" First hand experience?
