Alan Wake Remastered October Date Spied

A tweet from Wario64 highlights store listings on Rakutan that show an October 5th release date for Alan Wake Remastered. This is unconfirmed, and the listings have since been removed. But IGN notes that in a reply tweet industry analyst Daniel Ahmad vouches for the news, saying: "Will be announced next week."

Interesting, but there's no going back to Flashlight boy after being a super hero in Control.

Since I have never played Alan Wake, I am looking forward to it to get more context of how it intersects with Control.

Did you finish Control yet? I am... close to the end (?) and there is a tidbit in one of the DLCs that's pretty interesting in regards to Alan Wake, but going back to playing Alan Wake after Control isn't going to improve the overall story much, unless they plan to modify the Remastered Alan Wake to be 'post Control' or something. Which makes perfect sense for that universe, really.

Aye, I did finish Control and its additional content. I love the game and the segments that featured Alan Wake piqued my interest.

Yeah, having the events of Alan Wake happen after Control would be right in line with the flow of time in that universe.

The original is a beautifully atmospheric game. Had some genuine scary chills early on. That dissipates as you get used the enemies, but the atmosphere holds.

I liked the game mechanic for the most part. Although shining the light on flying debri and crows could get monotonous. My only advice is to play it with the all HuD elements off. Alan moves his head toward the nearest approaching attacker so you get used to it quickly. It helps retain the tension.

Unless they add more than higher textures and QoL improvements I can't see myself running to purchase this. The original holds up really well.

Ugghh, this so much. Why he didn't just leave during the day after the umpteenth nightly encounter could have used some more detail. Just vaguely implying obsession is basically a cop-out. That said, beyond those two things, I really enjoyed the game.
