No Man's Sky Frontiers Update

The post-launch support that rescued No Man's Sky from a rocky launch shows no signs of slowing down, as Hello Games announces the release of a new Frontiers update for the space exploration game. Here's a Frontiers Trailer with a look. Coming right around the fifth anniversary of the game's release, the patch is described as one of the "biggest updates for a long time":
Frontiers introduces the concept of large living breathing planetary settlements which travellers can encounter, interact with and even be elected Overseer of. As the leader of your adopted people, travellers can choose to help them, even lead them, ensure their future prosperity and happiness and ultimately develop these fledgling towns into even larger towns.

You are able to construct new buildings, to see your town grow as you welcome new inhabitants. Citizens will look to you to help solve their problems, make important decisions, keep them safely below sentinel radars, and help defend against drone attacks.

Looks like there is quite a lot of bugs introduced with the patch...

this is why ive been waiting and moreover i detest the idea of "early access" in general (which is still as it was in the beginning of it)... and really, many of the nasty things people thought would come to pass due to 'early access' have come about... which is unfortunate but perhaps ultimately inevitable given the sheer amount of content at various levels of completion and the lack of indie devs resources

however, i typically still dont play them... i wait until its finished and even then probably some time after that for more patches, updates, DLC and all that shit

Witcher 3 was a huge high but then CP2077 was a huge low - and that seems to typify how its been a rollercoaster for the industry as a whole, as far as im concerned... you can go into much more detail about it but current trends are not inspiring to me - in the sense of an indie market that has become "industrialized" by their need for money in a tight turn-around type cycle or perhaps selling whatever as an outright fraud or joke or anything in-between
