Among Us Devs Find Fortnite Impostors Mode Sus

The introduction of the new Fortnite Impostors (video) game mode for Fortnite has drawn obvious comparisons to Among Us. This would not be the first inspiration Epic's survival game has drawn, as its pivot to a battle royale seems to have been inspired by the success of PUBG. This is understandable, as the mechanics in Among Us were intentionally not patented: "We didn't patent the Among Us mechanics. I don't think that leads to a healthy game industry. Is it really that hard to put 10% more effort into putting your own spin on it though?" Other Among Us developers have taken to Twitter to complain that Epic's implementation is more than a little sus. Saying a collaboration would have been welcome, these tweets express dismay about just how much was borrowed from their social deduction game, which includes terminology and even map design. Here are the highlights courtesy of IGN:
Victoria Tran: "like game mechanics fine, those shouldn't be gatekept, but at the very least even different themes or terminology makes things more interesting?"

Gary Porter: "It's okay tho they flipped electrical and medbay and connected security to the cafeteria."

Maybe it's a joke on Epic's part.
It was the Among Us devs that said they didn't patent it. Which makes them sound like they think they came up with the idea, when they obviously haven't.
True.
