Battlefield Portal Revealed [Jul 22, 2021, 1:57 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Confirming rumors, today at EA Play Ripple Effect introduced Battlefield
Portal, a new multiplayer sandbox to be included with the launch of
Battlefield 2042. This is a community-driven experience that draws upon the
rich history of the military first-person shooter series. BF Portal will allow
players to create their own game modes by combining maps, units, weapons,
vehicles, and more covering over 100 years of history from past through the

Battlefield™ Portal is a community-driven platform within Battlefield™ 2042 that will let you create and find fantastic experiences made by the series’ creative and passionate community. The creation suite includes Settings, custom modes, and a Logic Editor so you can build your own signature spin on Battlefield’s sandbox; you’ll be able to change team ratios, tweak victory conditions, restrict weapons, and even put different factions from different eras in Battlefield’s history against one another. Those who want to focus on discovering what others have created will have easy access to an entire world of unexpected battles featuring some of the series’ most famous eras mashed together in distinct, exciting experiences.
On top of the content available in Battlefield 2042, Battlefield Portal also lets you play with maps, weapons, vehicles, and more from some of Battlefield’s greatest experiences, all reimagined at modern visuals. Honestly, this harken's back to the old Modding online BF gaming from many years ago. But with a bunch of modern features. Such as not having to go to a web site and download some massive mod files, to get a custom experience. No its not full on modding, but its the next best thing they can do developer side to have it.
IF, they can pull it off, IF this is fully functioning day one or shortly after release. then this title goes into my personal above 50% I want to buy it meter.
I won't hold my breath, but I will keep track of how its implemented into the game after release.

Wow ok. I mean this kind of covers pretty much everything.... server admin stuff, people who want to yolo solo vs ai only or customize coop vs ai. Extra maps. And they can keep adding to it with more past and future content.. SSD space might actually be the only problem with this lol O_o
This is sounds uncharacteristically cool to me from this particular franchise. Interesting concept.

I kinda expect them to lead 2042 up to 2142 with DLC, so.. maybe later in the game's life? That'd be sure to bring people straight back to the game if it dips.
It looks like creative mode from Fortnite. This should be a great feature.

Well, this will be cool, but I also expect the install size of this to be... 600 gigs? It seems like my 2TB SSD is not going to go as far as I thought.

I gotta admit, this seems to be pretty cool. Highly customizable game servers, supporting AI, cross-era, with content from BF 3, 1942 and Bad Company 2 (although only two updated maps from each game). Not sure how the maps will work in tandem with the BF2042 maps though. I assume privately rented servers can mix them in at will.
For a second, I thought it was a shooter based on Valve's Portal games.
