As an engineer, I honestly don't see how full autonomy is possible, unless ALL cars are computer controlled and all talking to each other, and that's never going to happen.

This is what I keep saying, and I get that people disagree or think I'm short-sighted, but let's just take a deer running into a highway. Computers aren't that much better than people are telling when the car in front pumps the brakes vs slams on them. I suppose, ideally, if every car is automated we can be better at following safe distance rules, and I guess if computers are slightly better at handling freak circumstances than people are it's an improvement, but I also think that if a computer handles a freak circumstance only slightly better, and still results in injuries or death, the manufacturers will be liable for millions and scaring people from the tech, whereas if a person does it they're just another lone accident.

You've got a third of the country refusing to wear masks or take vaccines, you think they're going to "let the government tell me I can't drive my own car"?

Why not? Would solve a ton of problems, like almost all traffic problems solved, traffic fatalities near zero, etc. A federal law mandating that happen by 2030 for instance would help.

Hey Ubishit...just sticking Tom Clancy in front of something doesn't make it a Tom Clancy(esque) game.
