Waiting for them to hit $1,000?

It is a board game with cards. There are train stock cards and "rail" cards. Rail cards are used to build trains which are placed on the board. Each player has a hand of cards which can number from 3 to maybe 10 or so. Theoretically you could get a bigger hand but the stock cards need to be laid down on the table in front of you in order to count towards winning the game. As with any cards after many years of use they get dirty/grimy. To help avoid that and lengthen the playability of an out of print game I plan to sleeve the cards (encase the cards in individual plastic sleeves).

There was a pretty good documentary about him made in 2016. I'll probably watch it again tonight with, a glass of fine whiskey, in his memory: Gringo: The Dangerous Life of John McAfee

John McAfee was an insane scammer of the highest order and it should be no surprise his life ended this way. I look forward to the eventual movie or made for Netflix special.

BTW for you big guys, I'm one too. 6 foot 4 inch, 240 pounds. Some chairs break just looking at me. The secret to having a chair last is NOT to fall into it. Sooner or later you'll pop the hydraulic cylinder.

2nd best chair I ever owned was the Hon 7800 series: https://www.amazon.com/7828NT69T-High-Performance-Mid-Back-Chair-Tectonic/dp/B0732C1KCD/

An $800 chair when I got it 10 years ago. Bought it used from a client in trade for $200 of work I did for him. It was in great shape, but he had to downsize his office and had two in storage. I still have that chair. I gave it to my wife for her computer desk. The cushion is still full and firm, and it's using the original hydraulic cylinder.

Herman Miller chairs are a wonder for aging backs. I got to use a Herman Miller Aeron in a hotel for two weeks and it was the best chair I've ever used. I was sorely tempted to buy a chair 5 years ago when they were $900. Now they're $1500!
You can get Aerons for $500-600. Here is one site: https://www.madisonseating.com/

Careful. Madison was sued once by Herman Miller because they sold refurb chairs as new. Just do a search on their company name, and check out their BBB Listing. They are not an official Herman Miller dealer, and all those chairs on sale are "open box" and thus legally used. That's okay, as long as you know what you're getting, but their website is misleading. The only real statement of this was in an email to the BBB I found from last February, but you don't see this said anywhere on their website:

"The chairs we offer are guaranteed to be in perfect working condition with only minor cosmetic imperfections"

On Herman Miller's own site they start at $1400.

If I was going to take a chance on Madison, I'd order through their Amazon store so you at least can complain to Amazon if there's a problem as they have a bad rep for customer service. On Amazon, they also have to list it as "open box" or "renewed".

I'm not certain, but a quick look around made it seem like they aren't being made any longer. Looks like you can still get one for around $200-$300.

Well I can't quite rationalize spending $1500 on chair (a video card, that's different), so I did some research, and a lot of people on Reddit were saying that the Office Depot WorkPro Quantum 9000 is about the closest you can get to an Aeron chair (people call it a "Baby Aeron").

Normally it's $450 but it must have been my lucky day. When I bought mine 3 months ago, it was on sale for $370.

Wonderful chair, once you get used to the mesh. It takes a few days for you butt to adapt to it, but once you do, it feels wonderful. I'm very happy with it. Best chair I've ever owned. Good review here: https://youtu.be/6PcGZ0o9wpE

gratis

Edit
Too funny. I just received an email responding to my thank you email for the chair. Previous owner originally received two of them free in 2004 from a person that had owned a business supply store in Austin.
Used in the running of their monthly newspaper (sadly the newspaper will be no more unless a buyer is found)

It seemed to be schizophrenia, from the wacky crap he said and did over the years. Not to mention the things his live-in ex-girlfriend has reported.
She apparently would become part of his schemes like his attempted kidnapping of another person, so she could subvert and undermine him.

On a completely separate subject, I would like to share my joy at these recent events:

I have just received via UPS a game I purchased off E-bay. It was advertised as an unplayed Union Pacific game, produced by Rio Grande Games. The item on E-bay included a photo of the game with the card decks still in their original cellophane. I wasn't sure I believed it. The game has been out of print for nearly two decades and I have occasionally looked around for one. I'd just spent a weekend playing board games including a couple rounds of Union Pacific (owned by a friend) when I found it and I decided to gamble.

It was exactly as advertised. Freaking amazing. Well worth the $125 (including the shipping). I can't wait to get the cards sleeved -- something I've never done before, but seems appropriate in this case. Looking forward to playing "my game" for the first time. It is a pretty simple game with limited strategy and winning is based significantly on the luck of the draw of the cards but it is fun and I enjoy it. Not every game needs to have complicated strategies and perfect math...

I don't understand, is it a board game or a card game? And what do you mean sleeved, and why?
