Obviously, she means slightly more to you than say, a broken lawn mower, but I think your obvious soft spot for this angel really shines through in this statement:
Its hard enough to talk to my 92 year old Grandma about left wing politics. The fact that men can kiss other men is about the limit of her tolerance. She is from a totally different era and simply will not get transgender, non binary, gender fluid etc.
Incidentally, she can be pretty caustic and im sure she is simply held together with dark side energy. She is still able to get to the local shop (shuffling with her walking frame) for her cigarettes - we refuse to buy them for her, "if you want to smoke, then go get them yourself". Ironically, smoking is keeping her going.
im sure she is simply held together with dark side energy

Annnnnd we're off fighting grandma's and ghosts again. You guys still not done convincing yourself how uniquely virtuous you are? If not, then keep up the fight fist raised high. Just let the rest of us degenerates live our lives peacefully.

The last free game I've stumbled on is Control--man, I really, really like Control so far. Thanks, Blue, for the blurb you carried about that because I'd likely have missed it otherwise (There's definitely a reason Blue is my home page and has been since it was called "Voodoo"(?)--er, run by 'Billy', I dimly recall...;)) Anyway, if I had known what a sweet, sweet game Control is I would have bought it long before I snagged it for free! They did a fairly poor job of advertising, as I thought it was just another brainless, reflex-oriented shooter with a boring story, lots of loud bangs and bright, flashing lights, etc., from the ads I saw. But what a game! Control is really, really special when you can snag it legally and free to boot! (It's just as special when you buy it!) To think I would have missed this if not for Blues News brings to mind my appreciation for the finer things in life...yes, indeed.
Speaking of free games...I don't even know what "Tell Me Why" is--or is supposed to be. Even though it is free it will never sit in my library, ever, except and unless DONOTNOD nods off and gives me $40 for taking a free copy off their hands. I will then place the funds into my wallet and then delete the game from my space...Were I not in supreme control of my sagging but nearly flawless body *cough* (I apologize for any unsavory mental pictures I may have inadvertently conjured--Charles Atlas with a walker, for instance!--and no, I don't use a walker!), I might have lost my dinner after watching that trailer. Oh, brother...more preachy "social" fluff designed for 14 year olds--wait, belay that to read "designed for 10-year-olds for whom puberty is but an interesting, abstract concept they've read about here and there but have never experienced outside of visiting their local neighborhood zoos and ogling the random porno", etc.
I think game designers who think I want to be lectured by pre and sometimes even actually pubescent teenyboppers about why I must be, and should be, lectured about why my personal likes are acceptable but my dislikes are not, or vice-versa, all in the computer games that I buy for fun--then I wish them all the luck in the world luck because they are going to need it.
Here's what I'd like to see--well, not really, because I do not think these kinds of themes are entertaining games material *cough* But stretching the ol' imagination a tad...
How about games that push tolerance and acceptance from all sides of a controversial issue? How about showing the people who may disagree with you as much consideration, sympathy, and tolerance you ask them to show to you? To my way of thinking, that is the only way to fly and people who expect to trash other people simply because they disagree on various issues should expect to be treated just like that by people who disagree with their principles, and so on. It's the way the world turns because it spins on the axis of human nature (how profound, eh?) Ah, what a wonderful world it would be if everyone did to other people only those things they would have those people do to them! If a game has to be made on human relationships, then the first steps in such a game would be the realization that everyone needs to have respect and tolerance for the other guy's opinions and beliefs--if that is, he expects anyone to have respect for his principles and beliefs.
I'm such a blabbermouth--but, OK, sometimes I get more motivated than at other times, I'll admit...;) Didn't intend to go on like this, but it's something I do believe myself. Nobody is right about everything, just as no one is wrong about everything. Fighting racism, bigotry, intolerance, disdain with racism, bigotry, intolerance, and disdain is guaranteed to never work, imo. Our own government has trouble with this very elementary lesson, imo. But the bottom line here for me is that I do not expect anyone to have respect for my beliefs and principles unless I show respect for theirs.
